Thermal transfer ribbons are available
in different grades:
- High-Speed Wax Thermal Transfer Ribbon:
Economical choice for standard label, high-volume
thermal transfer printing where labels will not be subject to
abrasion or adverse conditions.
- Wax/Resin Thermal Transfer Ribbon: Same
characteristics of wax ribbon, but with a mixture
of resin to provide some scratch resistance. Good
choice for most films, and for bar codes that may
be subject to some abrasion. Note that different
levels of these hybrid thermal transfer ribbons are available.
- Resin Thermal Transfer Ribbon:
Necessary for printing on certain
substrates. Provides scratch resistance on labels
requiring extra durability. UL recognized when used with the
proper thermal transfer label film.

different colors!
